Living in North Shields?

Hi, I'll just like to find out what the living standards are like in North Shields. Schools, neighbourhoods, Crime rates. The 'not' areas, the 'ok' areas & the 'best areas. And why. Really appreciate the advice from your experts & locals pool. Thanks!

  • Hi AdemolaIbim, Hopefully someone who had lived in North Shields will be able to give you more detailed advice on the specific areas that are good and bad in the town. As I haven't lived there, I can only give you the crime stats for the area as a whole, but this should be a good indicator on the general region of North Shields. To find this out, you can visit, where putting in the name of the town will show you all of the latest data on crime. From this site, it can be seen that the number of crimes in the town sat at 155 in March of this year. In total, the rate has been falling substantially in the last two years, and sits below the national average. Compared to both areas of a similar size and those under the jurisdiction of Northumbria Police, it has a very low crime rate. In terms of schools, you can find a list of all of the education centres in North Tyneside by clicking the link provided below. As you will see from this list, there are 12 primary schools and three secondary schools in the town. Many thanks, Scott
