I would suggest that you look at the local authorities’ website to see what the crime statistics etc for this area are. You can also look at the local tourist board website for that area which gives you an up to date overview of the area.

We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area.
You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page.
We hope this helps.

Ossett is a smashing place to live. All the schools are first rate. Ofstead outstanding and award winning teachers. The high school is almost top of the league tables only pipped by fee paying schools. The town centre is compact and has everything needed for a weekly shop. Transport links are excellent with a bus station serving all surrounding cities. It is a stones throw from the M1 and minutes from the M62 and A1. The population has a higher than average elderly mix, with the younger end fairly well behaved. Everybody seems to know someone wherever you go, and has a lovely community spirit. It is mainly owner occupied with some small local authority estates. The only negative I have found is that Wakefield Council seems to avoid Ossett when it comes to gritting. That is the one single negative. Apart from that Ossett is a great place to live.
