It all depends on what your family like to do, but yes, there is a lot in Paignton when compared to towns of similar sizes. Torquay is walking distance and between the two there are Theatres, Cinemas, Bowling Alleys, a Water Park and Zoo amongst other things, not to mention the beaches you're also close to Exeter and Plymouth for major shopping; althogh Torquay isn't too shabby for shops, that's the one thing which lets Paignton itself down (Every other shop seems to sell mobility scooters!).
