Where to live in Plymouth?

What is the best address for someone to live in Plymouth? New to the area and looking to live in a quiet pleasant area. Thanks.

  • Mannamead is the nicest and most exclusive, followed by Hartley. Peverell is also nice, but that's about it! Everywhere else is pretty scummy/chavvy

  • I have just moved to the Hoe and I find that there is a community here, it is quiet and the access to the shops, entertainment and the sea cannot be bettered.

  • There are other nice areas, apart from Mannamead and Hartley. Peverell is a good area if you can put up with the parking (not good if you have one or more cars) as the 'Park' roads are quite congested. Compton is a good area with a highly-rated Primary School and Derriford / Roborough are excellent if you don't mind being out of the centre. I would also say that there are some lovely properties on the Hoe and in Stoke. Many areas are 'on the up' and improving every year.
