What's it like to live in Rochdale?

Are the people friendly? What kind of people live around here?

  I am not a native of Rochdale, so have no particular bias. The town seems quite well cared for, although some strange trafffic control measures seem to compound traffic jams. Rochdale, is in many respects like any other Northern town, except it rains incessently. Health care is good, nightlife is also good, although many pubs in the districts have closed. If its hill walking you're into, then this is the town for you (wet coats a definite requirement).
