Hi There, So many different answers based on each lender having their own lending criteria. The general rule used to be 3.75 times your joint annual income or 3 times the highest and then add the second income! Many lenders still work on affordability at the end of each month aswell (basically how much disposable income do you have left after your other debts are paid each month). So there really are many answers. If you would like some advice from an Independent mortgage adivser to call you who deals with the whole of the mortgage market (free of charge no obligation) just email me your telephone number to richard@andrewsnape.com Thanks
