What is it like living so near the site of the Glastonbury festival? Does it get noisy and disruptive in late June or is it much fun?

  • Pilton Village is the most policed, and secure place to be during the festival. There are regular patrols and a friendly security liaison officer to contact if residents have any concerns. Some parts of Pilton hardly hear anything from the festival at all as they are in a dip (e.g. Shop Lane . Weir Lane.etc.) in fact parts of Shepton seem to hear the festival more easily - especially at night. The traffic on the first and last day can be disruptive - the queues can be long but there are side roads to get round the worst of it. But after all this is only a couple of days of the year and to have the fantastic range of talent that comes to the festival so near is worth the small inconvenience.
