What is it like living so near the site of the Glastonbury festival? Does it get noisy and disruptive in late June or is it much fun?

Pilton Village is the most policed, and secure place to be during the festival. There are regular patrols and a friendly security liaison officer to contact if residents have any concerns. Some parts of Pilton hardly hear anything from the festival at all as they are in a dip (e.g. Shop Lane . Weir Lane.etc.) in fact parts of Shepton seem to hear the festival more easily - especially at night. The traffic on the first and last day can be disruptive - the queues can be long but there are side roads to get round the worst of it. But after all this is only a couple of days of the year and to have the fantastic range of talent that comes to the festival so near is worth the small inconvenience.
