What percentage to take off asking price?
How do you know where to begin negotiations? Do you start at 10% off asking price or less? Thanks.

I would start at 12% and work down if you don't ask if you don't get, the worst they can do is refuse it and tell you what they would consider

It is also worth speaking to the Estate agent who is selling the property to see if they can indicate what a sensible start offer would be. It is also worth thinking about what your next offer would be (if any) should they reject your first one. Other factors to consider, have there been any previous offers and if so at what price, are there any current offer on the table and how much interest has the property had.
