What is the best area in Hampshire to invest in a buy to let house?

As I am about to retire, I would like to look into purchasing a buy to let 2/3 bed house, what areas in Hampshire give the best investment potential both in the cost of purchase and ease of letting.

  • The best place would likely be somewhere close to where you live. Do not underestimate how many times you will need to visit

  • Only just seen this, we buy near general hospital in Southampton. endless prospective tenants waiting. Buy ex local authority with parking, 3 bed semi range from £85o to £1000 pcm.Prices start from £170k now but if you can refurbish sometimes a deceased estate will come up but competition from investors is fierce.our 1st rental property cost us £55k in 2000 and we refurbished is now worth 200k and gets us £850 pcm never been empty and is local ex council. The tenants from the General are always professionals.maybe by now you have bought or missed the boat but I foresee a lowering of prices late next year so wait and see.best of luck

  • Stubbington is a very good area for renting. My daughter in law has her own business as a letting agent and she reckons the above is a very good area.
