Is the area in a high risk of subsidence area?

  When we moved current house insurers wouldnt insure new house because they said there was subsidence- this was after structural survey and searches that turned up no problems. Another insurer[Halifax] said they had no history of subsidence on their records insured us no problem [and £300 cheaper] Ask around insurers with postcode?
