What's it like to live in Tadcaster?

How does it compare to the areas around? Are the people friendly?

  • We moved here in 2006 and we think it's great! Very quiet, very little crime. The neighbours are very friendly and everyone seems to keep a look out for each other. Great schools. The main street is a bit tired and we could do with some better shops but all in all one of the best places we've ever lived.

  • We live about 1 mile outside of Tadcaster. Tadcaster is a small market town (market held every Thursday). Boston Spa (about 3 miles the other way has a Farmers Market once a month). Tadcaster is excellently situated for main routes (A1, M1, M62 all within five miles). It is equidistant from York, Leeds, and Harrogate and has two Primary and one very good Secondary school. There are also several private schools within 12 miles of the town. Our village is very quiet, people are generally friendly and we are about quarter of a mile from the main road so it is brilliant for children. Fields surround the village and there are lots of little coppices in the village for youngsters to use for dens. Being off the beaten track it is excellent for kids using bikes. Teenagers or older children can cycle to Tadcaster to use the swimming baths and sports centre.

  • Hi, We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page. We hope this helps.
