I want to buy a property to rent or to sell, how do I work out what kind of yield return I will get?

You need to work out your rent so if your rental would be £550 per month then the total over the year is £6600.00. Now if your property is worth £100,000 then your rental Yield is the rent divided by the property value so in this case it is 6.6%. You might want to take it from the Mortgage owned on the property so if the mortgage amount is £65,000 the it will be £6600.00 Divided By £65,000 Which is 10.1%.
