What are the pros and cons of living here? Is it an area on the up?

  • Wakefield is a great city to live in. It is currently undergoing a large transformation to its shopping areas with a new multi million shopping complex due for completion this year. It has many pubs, bars and restaurants offering a good social lifestyle. It is in close proximity to 3 motorways, has 2 main train stations, a modern bus station within the city centre giving Wakefield great transport links. There is also an ongoing major investment in redeveloping a water side area of the city which includes resedential, retail and a new museam. Later this year a new state of the art Hospital will fully open on the existing Pinderfields hospital site.

  • I would suggest that you look at the local authorities’ website or police.gov to see what the crime statistics etc for this area are. You can also look at the local tourist board website which gives you an up to date overview of the area. I would also visit the area and ask some locals.

  • Hi, We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page. We hope this helps.
