I have been living in Bridgend since 2004. There are both good and bad areas. So far i have been lucky that the areas i have been living are very nice with both families and working bachelors living with good understanding. The areas tend to get more rough on the other side of the M4 nearer to the valleys. The main advantages of course is excellent rail, bus connections, The designer outlet and its food court, all major supermarkets like tesco, asda, aldi, wilkinsons, lidl, sainsbury and anything else that comes to your mind and that too not too far from wherever you live in Bridgend. It is also centrally located to Swansea and Cardiff so you can work anywhere and still live a reasonably good distance away for communting. The property prices compared to these cities is very good and you can live in a decent location and decent house without spending a fortune. If you are planning to buy/rent a property i would advise read about the neighbourhood from upmystreet.com. You will get an overall idea
