Where is it best to buy as an investment?

  • It depends what you require from your investment... If it is a high percentage return from rent then the expensive areas such as Horsforth, Chapel Allerton and the majority of North Leeds usually results in a much lower yield. There may be scope for more capital gain over time however from such areas - 10 % rise means more pounds on expensive property. But what about yield - Beeston, Holbeck, Harehills and similar areas offer one bed back to backs from £40,000 which will rent at much higher returns giving 10% yields but are considered less desirable areas... A pro landlord would probably do best from a mixture of cash cow high yield properties and the odd longer term investment in better areas. Roundhay, Chapel Allerton, Moortown, Horsforth... Property is the low fee agent selling and letting property over the whole Leeds area with selling fees from just £299 and letting fees from just £99...
