What are the pros and cons of living here? Is it an area on the up?

Many nice people but a few who think they are above everyone else. Many older people who are very nice. Property prices stable/rising due to its proximity to Harrogate/York/Leeds. It will continue to grow but as it does so it will lose some of its lustre. Whether it will suit you depends on what you want our of 'your' town. It has def moved from being a market town to being much more urbanised and infulenced by Leeds. Whether that is good or bad is up for you to decide. Reasonable schools locally. Some over subscribed. North Yorks generally seen as better bet for schooling.

Wetherby is fabulous, great food and facilities. Schools are excellent and transport links brilliant. Only downsides are way too many charity shops have opened in the last 18 months and Wetherby Golf Club is a poor course. Great for sporty people with lots of trails for running/cycling. Happy chef, top chinese takeaway in Boston Spa.
