What's it like to live in Windermere?
How does it compare to the areas around? What are the local amenities like?

It is a lovely place to live. We personally do not get out and about as often as we like as we run a guest house - but in the winter when we have lots of spare time we really enjoy having the village to ourselves!! Obviously it gets very busy in the season - but the locals still have plenty of time for each other!! The local amenities - library, swimming pool, some really great restaurants - and a good selection of different cuisines, excellent train and bus links, relatively low crime area, lovely walks and the best views in England!! (well we think so anyway!)

I would suggest that you look at the local authorities’ website or police.gov to see what the crime statistics etc for this area are. You can also look at the local tourist board website which gives you an up to date overview of the area. I would also visit the area and ask some locals.
