What's it like to live in Wirral?

Is there much greenery in the area? Is it a safe area?

  • Hi. It's nice living in Wirral. I moved here from Manchester when I was 7, the air always feels clear and polution free. Although it has become very busy and a little overcrowded in recent years. I'm guessing everyone wants a piece of the fresh air.

  • I moved here in 2011. On the bright side, it is quiet, green and relatively peaceful. In some areas, a typical suburb, with good detached houses. No heavy traffic, no busy nightlife. Cons: some areas are not exactly safe, several of the houses I visited needed renovation and were in poor condition. Even in the richest parts of Wirral such as Hoylake, Heswall and West Kirby you can clearly see the signs that the worst is still to come: several shops closing and hundreds of properties for sale. Moreover, unless you live very close to the main train line, you definitely need a car, as public transport is limited.

  • Hi, We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page. We hope this helps.
