  • Yarm is a fantastic place to live. Voted best high street 2007/8 with a variety of shops including designer shops, places to eat and loads of pubs. Heaving at weekends as some pubs stay open untill 2am. The High Street can take over 10 minutes to drive through at peak times as there is quite a lot of traffic even on good days. The river runs parallel to the High Street and boasts some lovely walks stopping for a pint along the way. The High Street closes in oct/nov for 3 days while the funfair arrives in town! Friendly people once you get to know them and I have lived in Yarm for 10 years! Safe as far as I can tell but I dont drink after 11 O'clock so dont know of trouble in the small hours. Grandchildren love to walk into Yarm and eat chips by the river, feed the ducks and have an icecream. We love Yarm!

  • Yarm sounds a lovely place - we are thinking of visiting! It sounds like a safe area. See below from the website (see also the web link): Transport links to Yarm are excellent, there is a railway station and there are regular bus services to the surrounding villages. Yarm is a perfect place from which to visit the North York Moors and ideal for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts wishing... to visit the beautiful surrounding countryside. Fishing is available on the River Tees directly behind the main high street. There is an annual fair held in the town from Tuesday to Saturday in the third week in October, run by travellers who ride their horses through the streets on the Saturday. The town has a lively night life with a range of pubs and trendy bars lining the wide cobbled high street. Many have outdoor seating for the summer months.

  • Hi, We would suggest that you get in touch with local estate agents in order to get some background about the area. You can search for agents using the ‘find agents’ tab on the top of the Zoopla Page. We hope this helps.
