What's it like to live in Yateley?

Are the people friendly? What are the pros and cons of living here?

  • Yateley has a Waitrose, Yateley Manor Prep School, state nursery, junior and secondary schools, good though busy doctors' surgeries, private dentist, pubs with food at either end of the original village, a butcher, a fish & chip shop, other take-aways inc KFC, 2 petrol stations one with a 24 hour mini Tesco, post offices, estate agents, churches, a common with tennis courts, a 9 hole golf course (beneath electricity pylons). Yateley has been a safe place for our children. Approx 2 miles to Sandhurst (Kings Hardware, Domino Pizza, good take away curry) or Blackwater (Aldi & LIddl), 2.5 miles to The Meadows (Tesco & M&S, one if not both the biggest in the UK) or to Crowthorne (Wellington Colllege), 3 miles to Camberley (cinema, Pizza Express, shopping mall) 6 miles to Farnborough (Main for trains to London Waterloo, approx 45 mins, Salesian College, Farnborough Hill, Farnborough Sixth Form College, shopping centre), 8 miles to Wokingham, 10 to Bracknell (cinema, ice rink), 20 miles to Guildford or Reading, 40 to London, M3 junction 4 or 4A (about 1 hour to Leicester Square).
