Best place to live in UK

We've lived abroad for the last 6 years, & are looking to return to the UK. Want to know the best place to move to. Got 2 daughters, 16 & 20, so somewhere with good collages. Don't really want York, as thats where we are from, but had to put in a valid post code !!

  • Stevenage, Hertfordshire: leisure park, sport centres; near busy bus routes, schools, very nice modern college (I went there), playing fields/parks, walk/jogging/cycle paths, neighbourhood shopping area, community hall, OWL neighbourhood watch area. 25mins fast train service into London’s Kings Cross. I've been living in Stevenage for 27 years.

  • This is the most impossible to answer question ever posted! Do you want to be in the South East (richer but dearer) or not. You don't say why you don't like York.
