Are you able to get mortgages on metal framed ex-local council houses?

  • I would check with brokers that have information of all the mortgages on the market - if the houses go very cheap it may be because there aren't any mortgages for them.

  • Yes you can but I've been told by a few mortgage brokers that these can be hard to sell and your limited on lenders willing to take on a trust-steel house. Due to the fact these were meant to be temporary houses and not built to last forever. We live in one and have decided against it. We have neighbours annually repairing areas in their home due to movement..
