Solar Panels on roof green energy

I have had Solar Panels fitted on my south facing roof, does this increase the valueI get 43.5p per unit under the F.I.T. scheme

  • This is something that would be difficult to quantify but it is certainly a selling point. It would not be advisable to take the solar panels into account when deciding an asking price but they could be the reason that a buyer would choose your house over another similar or choose to pay you more for yours. Keep track of any financial gains from the panels, as if you do sell, it would be a good thing for buyers to hear.

  • Hi, It's not necessarily a case of having an affect on the value of the property. You have got to be very mindful and careful when having solar panels installed as some companies will have a lease on the solar panels for 25 years and as they have a charge on your property it is extremely difficult to sell your property with its lease in place. However we would advise like above to keep a track of savings in terms of energy consumption to present to potential buyers. We hope this helps.
