Is it better to redecorate before a sale?

  • It can be if the current decoration is very tired or loud. But decoration doesn't always add a lot of value, it simply makes a property more saleable.

  • Agree with the above. It is dependent on the current state of the property. Decorating may help the quickness of the sale, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it will add value to the property.

  • In order to increase the chances of selling your property you need to ensure that it is in reasonable decorative order and free from clutter.

  • It may help with the sale of your house to spruce things up but it is not saying potential buyer would like the decor as everybody has different tastes. At end of day most people buy a house and re-decorate when they move in to put there own stamp on. Personal advice, if you want to decorate to help with sale - keep decor plain and simple, neutral colours and de-clutter to make living space look bigger. Hope this helps.
