Painting front door a different colour.

What is the most appealing colour for a front door? At the moment it is mahogony, but we would like to strip it down and add some colour.

  • What colour are you looking to paint it though? That should be the question.

  • I have just been doing a little bit of re-search, this colour (Benjamin Moore Chic Lime) came to my attention, along with (Bright Red). One of these colours would go really well, But I highly advise you not to do your door both colours, as it could cause colour blindness :)

  • Paint it a colour you like. If you are selling, think carefully, some colours can be off putting to some buyers. Otherwise, unless you believe in mumbo jumbo, the colour you like should be on your door.

  • Yellow is most likely to sell the house if you are considering that. Otherwise, pleae yourself!

  • If you are selling I would advise you against yellow or other bright colours, mahogany is probably more universally acceptable. If it is for yourself, then go for what colour you like as others have said. When you live in your home and love it as most people do, you should have what YOU want, not what other people want or suggest.

  • Choose a colour that you like. Agreeing with the answers above, if you are looking to sell the property in the near future, then I would advise that no extravagant colours are used. A neutral colour?

  • Apparently painting your door yellow gets you more viewings and a higher price . . . not sure how true that is!
