Addition of Conservatory

Greetings! I have a ground floor flat, East facing, with half the depth of garden. Garden has a high wooden fence all the way round and a modest rudimentary oblong patio. I am thinking of adding a modest Conservatory. Metal Base onto Patio, 2X Picture Windows & Double Doors. Would this increase the sale price of the property? Likewise I was thinking of putting double doors to replace a picture window in the through lounge. Window frame here wooden old and tatty...The window faces onto the adjacent building so it's not a particularly attractive view but it this could make the room feel brighter and indeed warmer...Look Forward to hearing...K.A.H.

  • The evidence on conservatories is contradictory. According to a report commissioned by Zopa an average conservatory costs in the region of £5300 and adds an average of £5750. This is 108% of capital spent. As to whether that is the best use of £5k depends on the condition of the rest of the house. These figures were based on the then average house price of £259k
