  • Offer a good price, it is that simple. People offer very low these days expecting house prices to stay low, expecting the vendor to be desperate. But if you offer low and cripple the vendor, they will accept a better offer in a heartbeat. Prices won't stay low forever more, so lousy offers will get pushed aside the second a better offer comes along. Gazumping is going to be very common place whilst buyers are being more greedy and crippling every home owner who wishes to move. So buyers beware, when you offer on a house or flat you want, make it a fair offer or lose it to someone else.
