Can I trust Land Registry sold prices?

Hi all, someone just told me to take the Land Registry data with a pinch of salt because it's provided by estate agents (obviously it's in their interests to inflate them). Does anyone know if that's true?

  • No it's not true. The prices are provided by solicitors when a property sells and completes the legal process then the solicitor has to register the details with the Land Registry

  • My wife bought our flat in January 2010. She paid £116,800 it shows on Zoopla sold price section. However on Rightmove it doesn't even show up as a sale.
