Attic conversion potential
Looking for a property with potential for conversion. Are there any properties with large basement or roof space for conversion in this area for sale?

Hi there your best bet is to look at properties that were built pre-1900 as these are likely to be of solid construction and have either basement or ample attic space for conversion. Any easy way of finding these areas is to look on a map, such as Google and flick it to map only - zoom in on a town such as Watford or St Albans and have a look at the street layout. Victorian and Edwardian houses tend to be built in a uniform fashion, so many of the linear patterns in road placement you see on a map will be houses of this age - more 'squiggly' parts of town will be 80's and 90's built housing estates so you may want to avoid looking in those areas, although the larger properties may still lend themselves to attic conversion. Use the map search tools on Zoopla or Rightmove to look in these areas and contact the agents to arrange some viewings. I think this is probably your best bet. Hope this helps
