Is Cranleigh a desirable place to live in? How do prices there compare with that of Guildford?

A very popular commuter village/small town (I think it claims to be the largest village in England). Reasonable service provision and good access to Guildford and Horsham onto the South Coast, so decent. There are some very nice roads and prices are not much different from Guildford.

Cranleigh is a very desirable place to live, pretty much every year we have more people looking to live in Cranleigh than houses available to buy. Prices are on par with Guildford.

I have lived in Cranleigh for the last 5 years and have found it to be a very pleasant village to live in. Good range of local shops, supermarkets, pubs etc. It does lack a station and you have to travel to Guildford for a fast service straight to London but it is very well located for all major access routes.
I have had many clients buy in Cranleigh as well as Guildford with prices pretty comparable. The quality stock in the village still obtains a good premium so the choice boils down to wanting a bustling village lifestyle or a busier town existance in Guildford. My advice is that if you dont need to use the train each day, go for Cranleigh.
