  • Yes, yes yes - but you have to do it cleverly. If you haven';t invested in property before you can find out how on many sites including Always try and raise the most about of deposit you can and get the best mortgage product. Ask yourself, can you afford it on your own?

  • You need to understand that investing in property is complex and requires years of experience. As a rule of thumb you need a rent ratio of 1. For every £100k invested you need £1k in monthly rent. Costs average 50% of gross income excluding loan payments. The only way to achieve this is by buying at the bottom of the market. If you try and achieve good returns through price appreciation you still need to time the market. We're in a bubble in much of the UK now so not a great time to invest. Student accommodation the north is worth exploring.
