Hi, I put an offer to buy house.

Hi, I put an offer to buy house. Suddenly I found on Zoopla the house value is gone down and we have start to do our paper work. Can I still change my offer?

  • Legally, in England and Wales, you are not contractually bound until exchange of contracts so technically, yes you can. However, do not take Zoopla's valuation as gospel. It would be worth doing a bit of research into the area and see if the price you are paying is reflected in the asking price of similar properties. That would be the best way to find out. Ultimately, if you want the house, you will have to offer an amount which the vendor is happy with. If you lower your offer, you may not get the house.
