Looking to buy a property in Berwick upon Tweed,

Relocating from Norfolk. Thinking of running a b and b. What is local market like? do b and bs do well in the town? Any particular areas that would be good.

  • Hi Boo401962, While I can't comment on certain areas of Berwick Upon Tweed that would make for a good place to invest in this type of property, I can say from experience that it is definitely a place that attracts a high number of visitors, both for itself and the surrounding attractions. Within Berwick, there are the old castle ruins, the old town area with its local market, and even a decent area for catching up with a bit of shopping. Its market town atmosphere is very popular with tourists. In the surrounding area, there are also attractions such as Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle (used for the Hogwart's scenes in the Harry Potter movie franchise), and other popular destinations such as Lindisfarne, all of which attract high numbers of visitors. For this reason, my own personal opinion would be that Berwick Upon Tweed would be a fine place in which to invest in a bed and breakfast type property. Many thanks, Scott
