Accepted Offer
I have been advised that the property I am interested in has been sold but the property next door is for sale which is quite similar by an agents advice. I've been advised to make the same offer as the now sold one as the price has been accepted by the seller but the price has risen significantly. Can I make an offer more in line with the now sold property?

Yes. The agent is just trying it on. Prices at the moment are NOT rising significantly; actually they are dropping

The agent is trying to get the best price possible. What you must do is decide what the property is worth to you and offer on that basis. If it is accepted, great. If not, you need to either increase your offer if you can afford to or walk away.
