Offer accepted but now told too high property...

Myself and a partner put in an offer for a flat in a sealed bid, it was accepted. My father is helping in deposit and has now said that we have over offered. Can we reduce our original offer?

  • I am from Gibbs Gillespie Estate agents. I think you have to ask yourself how much you want the property? By all means, you can reduce your offer, however you must prepare yourself for the fact that the vendor may not accept this reduced offer and want to sell to someone else. If you are getting a valuation done on the property via your mortgage lender, then if the valuer feels that the property is overpriced, then you may have a down valuation, which will give you a better chance of getting the price reduced. I hope this helps, Many thanks Kelly
