How much would it be on average to have lease renewed

  • I don't think 'average' is very helpful here. There are: legal and valuers fees, including the freeholders costs. plus the value you gain and the freeholder thereby loses by extending the lease. This will depend largely on how long the present lease has to run, the shorter the lease the more expensive the extension. In my recent experience, budget at least a thousand pounds in fees etc.

  • Your lease is worth around £4000 but don't expect to get it for that without going to tribunal which will ramp up legal fees and cost around 11k in total freeholder will settle for around 5.5k so with fees yours and theirs expect cost to be between 8-9k
