Is central Maidstone a good place to buy a 1-bedroom flat?

There seem to be a number of such flats on the market for well over 6 months: is Maidstone 'on the up' or..?

  • Yes it is. Lots of money being put in to regenerating the town centre, new museum, new shops, new private hospital being built on the motorway junction, new parks. The council are doing a great job and there are lots of flats going cheap, especially by the river, because too many have been built. It's good distance between London and the ountryside and there's lots to see and do. Only problem is traffic - it's a nightmare - the town is in gridlock at rush hour. But flats are walking distance from train stations, bus station and town centre so surmountable...

  • Maidstone is a brilliant place and if you were considering living in it yourself you can expect the value to creep up over the years. If you're considering buy to let then rentals are through the roof in Maidstone, especially the town centre.
