FLOATING FREEHOLD

A property I'm interested has been recently built on the side of the main house. Would this have a floating freehold or its own freehold? What problems would arise from this. In current market what is a fair amount to offer? Thank you

    By floating freehold I think you might be referring to a flying freehold, then unlikely. If the property has been built on the side of an existing property is should be a straight forward freehold, but check the title has been separated properly and registered at the land registry. The only other potential issue would be to check party wall agreements between the pre-existing house and the one build on. As for a fair offer I am afraid that is up to you and how much you want the house, but most are within about 10% of the asking.However don't be afraid to negotiate, proceedable buyers are fewer than they have been for a while.
