How much will the value of a house change if the garage must be put down?
Hello I recently saw a very nice house in the East midlands priced 205k. It is a 3 bedroom detached 1930 building, well kept, of approximately 95 sqm. Unfortunately it has an asbestos garage, separated, and I do not want to keep it. The local council has told me that they will dispose it provided that is removed. The seller offered to remove it, but then the house is with no garage. How much should I knock off the price in this case?

I would have thought you could negotiate a reduction of £5000, possibly more. I suppose it depends on how much you want this property and whether the vendor wants to reduce. You can but try, at the very least, it is a bargaining tool. To build a new garage, it will cost you around 10,000 for a brick build.
