I've been a tenant for 28 years, do I get a discount on my house if I was to buy it?

Do you mean a tenant with the local authority or privately? Regards Mark Harrington

The short answer is yes. You are entitled to a discount on current market value up to a maximum. The local authority should tell you what their maximum discount is. Where I live it seems to be common practice to undervalue for friends of the LA and then discount to max.
