The best course of action would be to click on 'Estate Agents' above and 'Ask an agent'. Local agents will then contact you to arrange a valuation. Remember, some agents may deliberately value higher to win your instruction and the cheapest/most expensive agent will not necessarily provide the best service or get results quickest. Take a balanced view on the strengths of all agents and then decide which is best for you.

It is true that many agents will over value your property to get it on their books, gaining at least three valuations is the best way to get a good idea of the true value. Also look at sold prices in your area for similar properties to see what difference there is between asking prices and sold prices.

For about £150, you could get esurv to carry out an independent valuation. As an executor, this may well give you a greater level of protection against accusations from interested parties that you didn't obtain the market price.
