Ex-council house next to council house?
I am considering a semi-detached house which has a council house right next to it, apparently this house had been bought by the tenant long back and sold off but there are other houses on the lane which are still council houses. Valuation by the bank is fine but having the other half of the house with council tenants, does it affect resale and rental values?

It should not affect the resale or rental because it will be considered as an ex-metro property. thanks

No, not as far as I am concerned but a surveyor, through personal preference may decide otherwise.

Not usually from a surveyor's point of view, but they may decide that the area is unsuitable for lending due if they feel it would be hard to sell the property because of this. Ask your agent if any other properties have sold recently in the area with a mortgage. The area is usually factored into the price of the property anyway. I would be more concerned about who the tenants are as this could affect rental/resale values.
