Sold property not listed

Cannot find a property that should be listed. It was sold in 2007 - would there be a reason it is not listed?

  • We're finding it strange too. How do we go about finding out if it is an error?

  • I have done some research for you and there could be a couple other reasons why it is not showing up. It takes between three to six months to show up on the land registry from the exchange and completion of a property, and also you can actually pay to hide the price a property sold for. I hope this helps?

  • Thanks. Given the property was sold in 2007 it was well within the time it takes to show up on Land Registry and other house price sites. Would you be able to give an example of why anyone would want to pay to hide the price?

  • Perhaps they bought it quite cheap (repossession property, bought from family or friend) and thought that it would put buyers off if they could see the price it was sold for previously. That's the only reason I can think of, but people work in mysterious ways!
