  • Hi beasley26, In general, house prices are very much on the rise at the moment, yes. Boosted by low interest rates and the demand that has been spurred on by the government's Help to Buy scheme, prices have been rising now for more than a year. The most recent report, released just this week by Nationwide, estimates that house prices last month were a full 5.6 per cent higher than they were a year ago, so with this in mind, it could be the time to sell if you are indeed looking for a quick sale or the chance to just find a buyer at some point relatively soon. If not, you might consider waiting a little though. Some commentators expect further rises of around eight per cent this year, with the improvements in the economy and increasing employment figures likely to see more people trying to buy homes. In addition to this, most predictions are showing that prices should continue to increase for at least another four years. Of course, there's never anything concrete when it comes to property prices, so it's all about deciding on the best time to buy for you and hoping for the best. Many thanks, Scott
