How do I put a valuation on my garden?
How do I value part of my garden? A neighbour wants to purchase the back of my garden which measures 18x18ft, it's about one fifth of my garden.

You are talking about a small amount of land, probably worth no more than a few hundred pounds, maybe a little more if they are willing to pay. If you were selling a building plot, then you would be talking several thousand pounds. You need to speak to a solicitor really. Think about the impact on you before you sell land, as a few hundred pounds or even a thousand might not be worth the hassle. Your property with your entire current garden might be worth more to you when you come to sell. You could get a couple of estate agents out to value your property, mentioning the possible sale of this land. They might give you some indication as to whether you should go down this route or not. But I don’t think you are looking at a lot of money for such a small piece of land, at the end of the day it will be worth what it is worth to the neighbour purchasing it, they might pay more if it is important to them.
