Year my house was built

For my mortgage I need to know what year my house was built. 2 fairbairn ave, WR3 7JJ Please can you help?

  • This information should be on your title deed. If you do not have a copy, download one from the land registry. It costs £4.

  • Unfortunately the land registry records ownership and rights over land. It is not primarily interested in what is built on that land. If your property is newly built or converted, say last 20 years a land reg title report may give you a clue, but it may not. I would check the meters for an instal date. I would also consult the local planning office if the property is a post war build. You can do this online. Beyond that you have to estimate based on architectural features. below is a link to a helpful guide.
