Is it wise to buy a new townhouse, will the price go up?

It depends on whether it is overvalued in the first place. Property prices will go up, but in the short term, buying new build can leave you in negative equity. But it does depend on where you buy and how much for. There are still good deals on new builds, you just have to do your homework. Look at sale prices for similar properties in the area, look at sold prices to see what people are paying for similar properties etc.
