17, single parent, have a job, have a guarantor, can I rent?

Looking for a house/apartment but was just wondering if I will be able to rent because I am 17, I have a job and a guarantor.

  • Hi Demi, There is certainly nothing to stop you renting in your position. There will be landlords who are not keen to work with people aged under 18, but there are many people who do it, so you can still find somewhere. The fact you have a guarantor will be a large positive in your favour that will definitely help you get a rental. In addition to this, you will probably be best to have proof of income to show that you have a job with a steady income and that you can afford to pay your rent. If you can prove both of these things, then you should definitely be able to find a landlord and letting agent who will deal with you. Many thanks, Scott
