Looking to rent but have bad credit

Me and my partner are looking to rent a property, he works full time and I'm a full time mom for our 2 children. Most agencies do a credit check and we both think we will fail as we have had problems in the past, is there any way or any companies that don't do checks?

  • Unless it's a private landlord through the newspaper chances are the answer is a no. Try a free credit report online before paying out for one through an agency.

  • Yeah, check your credit rating first, it might not be that bad. What about getting a guarantor? Or look for private rentals/landlords in local papers or online - gumtree etc
