Process of being with a agency?

Hi, me and my partner of 8 years are looking at finding a house to rent, and are unsure of how to go about using a agency. For example, how much would they charge a fee for us using them and deposits to pay and credit checks etc? Please send reply, thank you for your time. Would it be more beneficial to make appointment with a agency even if we are not ready to move yet just so we can get a idea of what we will need to get in order to complete the process?

  • It obviously depends which agency you use but here at Harringtons we charge £150 per person including VAT, no hidden charges! We do not take up credit reference checks just ask for a UK guarantor and if you do not have this 6 months rent in advance! We do not take DSS and we need your employment details!

  • Usually agents charge £150 inc of VAT which includes all referencing required. Deposits are usually 1 months rent in advance but always check with the agents. Employment details and proof of income would also be required. Good Luck with your house hunting.

  • I would strongly recommend going around your local agents and asking as every agent is different and will have differing properties that may interest you as well as differing fee structures.
